Clay Jensen had received a box with no return address full of audio tapes in the mail. Confused, he puts the tapes in the cassette player in number order, unbeknownst to him that the tapes were an audio recording of a dead friend of his by the name of Hannah Baker, who had committed suicide not too long before. The tapes mention a list of names, and says that everyone mentioned on the list is some what responsible for her death. Clay wants to find his purpose in her suicide, and after he has listened to all 13 tapes, he is instructed to pass the box on to the next person on the list. This introduction gives me an eerie feeling, and I want to continue reading and hear all the reasons why.
